The Global Focus is a platform for substantive dialogue in an age that rewards speed over depth. Founded in 2018 to archive interviews conducted over more than two decades, The Global Focus was relaunched in September 2025, all content was consolidated and republished as part of a formal relaunch with an expanded editorial mission.
We conduct long-form interviews with political leaders, cultural figures, policymakers, economists, and thinkers whose perspectives shape the international landscape. Our approach is straightforward: we ask serious questions, we listen without interruption, and we give complexity the space it deserves.
What We Stand For
Dialogue without manipulation. We don’t edit for maximum conflict or structure conversations to tell audiences what to think. We trust readers to form their own judgements.
We don’t select interview partners for ideological alignment. We seek the widest possible spectrum of perspectives – including those that challenge our own positions. Understanding emerges from engaging with uncomfortable ideas, not from confirming what we already believe.
Our editorial stance is free from commercial, party political, or proprietorial influence. We answer only to the standards of honest inquiry.

Our goal is to create a sustainable model for independent journalism that treats audiences as thoughtful, capable of complexity, and deserving of more than soundbites.
About the Founder
The Global Focus was founded by Reya von Galen, an international journalist whose career spans television, print, and digital media across three continents.
Her interviews include Benazir Bhutto, Zbigniew Brzezinski, Otto von Habsburg, Empress Farah Pahlavi, Jacques Attali, Dominique Strauss-Kahn, Hubert Védrine, Simon Wiesenthal, and Imran Khan, among others. She has covered elections, conflicts, and cultural developments across Europe, the United States, and the Middle East.
Fluent in German, English, and French, she has built The Global Focus as a platform where thoughtful voices can be heard across ideological and cultural divides – the kind of dialogue our accelerated, fragmented moment demands.
